01Infrastructure
The summit of Mount Mtatsminda hosts the famous amusement park and TV tower. At the base, Rustaveli Avenue offers theatres, museums, cinemas, and shopping centres. Within the district itself there are small shops, cafés, and restaurants with panoramic terraces.
02Transport
Liberty Square metro station (Tavisuplebis Moedani, opened 1967) is the central transport hub nearby. A funicular railway climbs the mountain. Buses and minibuses cover all parts of the district.
03Housing and prices
Historic Tbilisi townhouses with balconies and inner courtyards (the classic 'mdovré' style) dominate. New builds are almost non-existent due to dense historic fabric. Well-maintained properties command high prices.
04Schools and kindergartens
Several city schools and private institutions are within walking distance. Rustaveli arts university and the State University are a short stroll away.
05Safety and atmosphere
One of the safest spots in the city: a tourist zone that is well lit and well patrolled. Busy during the tourist season, which itself provides natural safety.
