About this place
Marjanishvili station opened in 1966 and is named after Georgian theatre director Kote Marjanishvili (1872–1933). Marjanishvili Square is one of the city's most vibrant and bohemian meeting points, frequented by artists, musicians, and young people. The Deserter's Market (Dezerter Bazaar) — Tbilisi's largest — is within easy walking distance.
