01Infrastructure
City administration, courts, a central culture-and-leisure park, a stadium, theatre, and cinema. Shops, restaurants, and cafés line the main streets. Rustavi is an important industrial centre; most factories are located in this part of the city.
02Transport
Bridges across the Mtkvari connect Old and New Rustavi. Bus services operate within the city. The highway to Tbilisi runs via New Rustavi.
03Housing and prices
Stalinist multi-storey buildings with characteristic facades, architecture of the 1940s–1960s. Prices are comparable to New Rustavi or slightly below. Supply is limited — less residential development, more administrative.
04Schools and kindergartens
Several state schools are present. The main concentration of schools is in the residential micro-districts of New Rustavi.
05Safety and atmosphere
An administrative centre with good lighting and regular patrols. Proximity to industrial facilities warrants attention to air quality.
