01Infrastructure
The main attraction is Lake Harku with its beach and walking paths. The neighbourhood has schools, kindergartens, pharmacies, and small shops; the large Rocca al Mare shopping centre is in neighbouring Haabersti, 10–15 minutes away by transport.
02Transport
Bus routes (17, 17A, 22, 28) connect Õismäe to the city centre and surrounding areas; trolleybus line 4 links Õismäe directly to Kesklinn. The journey to the centre takes around 20 minutes.
03Housing and prices
The characteristic concentric layout from the 1970s consists of high-rise panel blocks arranged in arcs around the lake. Prices are affordable; many apartments have been renovated to a modern standard.
04Schools and kindergartens
Several state schools offering instruction in both Estonian and Russian, plus kindergartens. The neighbourhood has traditionally attracted Russian-speaking families.
05Safety and atmosphere
A calm family neighbourhood with a green lakeside zone and good street lighting. The atmosphere is quiet and unhurried.
