01Infrastructure
Mustamäe houses the main campus of Tallinn University of Technology and the North Estonia Regional Hospital — the largest in the country. The neighbouring Rocca al Mare and Järve shopping centres are easily accessible; within the district itself there are schools, kindergartens, pharmacies, and small supermarkets.
02Transport
Good bus connections across the city; trams are available in neighbouring Kristiine and Haabersti. The city centre is 15–20 minutes away by public transport.
03Housing and prices
Almost exclusively five-to-nine-storey panel blocks built in the 1960s and 1970s, some of them fully renovated. Rental prices are among the lowest in Tallinn — the district is popular with students and young professionals.
04Schools and kindergartens
Several state schools and kindergartens operate here; TalTech's main campus is right in the district. Mustamäe has long been a magnet for students from across Estonia.
05Safety and atmosphere
A settled residential neighbourhood with green courtyards and good street lighting. The atmosphere is calm; crime is below the average European level.
