01Infrastructure
Nový Smíchov shopping centre — one of the largest in Prague: Tesco, a cinema, and restaurants. The embankment hosts bars and cafés. Nearby are office blocks and hotels. By 2032, the former railway yard will become the new Smíchov City quarter with a park, schools, and housing.
02Transport
Metro line B (yellow): Smíchovské nádraží and Anděl — two hubs with connections to trams (6, 9, 12, 14, 20), buses, and suburban trains. Smíchov is a major railway station with regional services. To the centre (Můstek) — 5–7 minutes.
03Housing and prices
Historic apartment buildings sit alongside modern residential complexes along the embankment. Prices are moderately high — the district is in demand due to its transport convenience and business activity.
04Schools and kindergartens
Several state schools and private kindergartens. The Smíchov City project plans new schools for 5,000 pupils. The Czech Technical University (ČVUT) is in neighbouring Dejvice, 20 minutes by metro.
05Safety and atmosphere
Smíchov is a safe and lively district; exercise normal caution around the station at night. Residential streets away from the station are quiet and well lit.
