Mariánské náměstí square with shops, cafés, and pharmacies is the neighbourhood's everyday hub. Hulváky Park is the main green recreational area. A special shopping bus (95) connects the neighbourhood with shopping centres. DOV (Vítkovice) is 10 minutes by trolleybus.
02Transport
Tram 1 and trolleybus 104 go directly to the Ostrava centre in 10 minutes. The Mariánské náměstí tram stop is the main transport hub. Buses towards Poruba and the airport are available.
03Housing and prices
Brick buildings from the 1930s–1950s mixed with panel blocks. Average purchase prices from 38,000 to 60,000 CZK per sq m; two-bedroom rents 10,000–14,000 CZK per month. Municipal social housing is partly available through a council programme.
