Moravské náměstí square hosts a large Tesco, pharmacies, banks, and numerous cafés. Restaurants, co-working spaces, and small shops line Veveří street. Masaryk University and faculties of Brno University of Technology are nearby, keeping the urban environment permanently active.
02Transport
Trams 1, 6, 8, and 12 connect Veveří with the Brno city centre and the main railway station in 5–10 minutes. Veveří street is one of the city's main tram arteries. To Hlavní nádraží (main station) — about 10 minutes.
03Housing and prices
Dense late-19th and early-20th century development: multi-storey apartment buildings with high ceilings and bay windows. Purchase prices from 85,000 to 130,000 CZK per sq m; one-bedroom rents 14,000–18,000 CZK per month. Apartments sell fast due to high student demand.
04Schools and kindergartens
Several faculties of Masaryk University and Brno University of Technology (VUT) are within walking distance. State primary schools and grammar schools in neighbouring Černá Pole and Královo Pole — 5–10 minutes by tram.
05Safety and atmosphere
A lively and well-lit neighbourhood. Street crime is low; the student atmosphere keeps the district animated until late in the evening. Police regularly patrol the central section.
