01Infrastructure
The historic centre with Grodno Castle, the Farny (St. Francis Xavier) church and the 12th-century Saints Boris and Gleb (Kalozha) Church. The pedestrian Sovetskaya Street with its cafés, restaurants and shops is the central retail axis. Major shopping centres, banks and administrative offices cluster here. The Forty and Devyatovka microdistricts are large residential zones inside the district.
02Transport
Grodno's main railway station sits inside Leninsky district. Bus and trolleybus routes fan out from the centre across the city. The border location offers good bus connections to Warsaw and Vilnius.
03Housing and prices
Soviet brick buildings in the centre and panel high-rises in Devyatovka and Forty. The central blocks host the most expensive housing in the city.
04Schools and kindergartens
Several gymnasiums with intensive language programmes and state schools; the Grodno State Medical University (GrSMU) is one of the leading medical universities in Belarus.
05Safety and atmosphere
The centre is well lit and busy. The historic streets are safe; the tourist flow brings additional presence to the area.
