01Infrastructure
The district contains Gomel's main railway station, the bus station and the airport. The industrial character is softened by well-developed everyday amenities: shops, markets and polyclinics in every block. A major educational cluster: 9 colleges, 2 lyceums, research institutes and the Belarusian State University of Transport.
02Transport
The railway and bus stations sit at the very centre of the district. Numerous city routes link the district with the centre and the rest of Gomel; trains run in every direction across the country.
03Housing and prices
Soviet-era residential blocks mixed with industrial sites; prices are moderate and below the city average. The choice of flats is broad.
04Schools and kindergartens
The largest educational cluster in Gomel: the BelSUT, 9 colleges, 2 lyceums and 74 secondary and pre-school institutions.
05Safety and atmosphere
An active transit district near the station; the main streets are well lit. The residential blocks deeper inside the district are quieter and calmer.
