Until 2023 the station was called 'Dubai Marina'; it was renamed 'Sobha Realty' under a commercial sponsorship deal. It sits at the eastern edge of Dubai Marina, a 5-minute walk from the Marina Walk promenade. Marina Mall, a yacht club and dozens of restaurants are right nearby. Dubai Tram also stops near the district.
