Jumeirah Beach Road with boutiques, cafés, galleries and markets. Kite Beach and Jumeirah Beach Park are within walking distance. A diverse mix of restaurants, spas, fitness centres and children's playgrounds.

The main transport options are private car and taxi. Bus routes exist but run less frequently than in central districts. The drive to Downtown is about 20–25 minutes without traffic.

Villas and townhouses with gardens dominate, including two-storey villas in gated compounds. The district has traditionally been popular with families; apartments are also available but in smaller numbers.
