The Marina Walk promenade stretches roughly 7 km and is flanked by hundreds of restaurants and cafés, retail galleries, a yacht club, cinemas and fitness centres. Dubai Marina Mall provides a wide range of shops and services.

Two Red Line metro stations — 'DMCC' and 'Sobha Realty' — sit at either end of the district; Dubai Tram runs the full length of the waterfront, connecting the marina with JBR and Internet City. Water taxis operate along the canal.
